If you have an event coming up, either as the groom yourself or as wedding guest, hiring a suit is a really good alternative to buying one off the peg. If you haven’t hired one before, this is what happens in the process of hiring a suit from Antich, broken down so you know what to expect and when each part of the process happens.
Initial Appointment
Firstly we get you in for a quick chat or appointment to discuss your requirements.
We talk about:
- What your event is, if you are a wedding guest, or if you getting married yourself, or simply hiring for an event like a black tie dinner.
- We talk about what your colour scheme is, which fabrics you prefer and just to try on some suits to get an idea of what you are looking for.
- We recommend booking appointments for this, purely so you can have some focused time to look at all the options we offer. For this first appointment we always suggest just bringing your other half or partner, and just a couple of people.
- You don't need to check if all your groomsmen can make this one! This first appointment does not cost anything either. Groomsmen don’t need to come for your first appointment, just for the measures.
After you have confirmed your choices, we would then ask for a deposit. For hires this is £20 per person. Final payment is due 30 days before your event.
Measures
After the first appointment we book you and your groomsmen in for what we call a Measures appointment. This is the date which you need to check everyone can make and would be with all your party, so all your groomsmen if possible, but for measures we can also book multiple appointments if your whole party can't make the same date. We do also have measurement forms in place if someone in your party does not live local and can't make the measures appointment, although we do recommend they come if they can!
If you are just hiring for yourself for an event this can also sometimes be at the same time as your initial appointment, depending on the time available.
A week before your event
A week before the event or wedding we get your whole party to come back and collect your suits. This is done intentionally, as a week allows for any sizes to be changed and ordered from the hire company if need be.
TOP TIP:
If you are getting married and are thinking about where to spend your budget and whether you want to buy suits for everyone or not, we also have suits that are available to both buy and hire. This means you can buy the same suit for yourself and hire that same suit for your groomsmen, but not spend as much. This is a really popular option that a lot of wedding parties do.
Hiring suits is available at both our Huddersfield and Ilkley stores:
